  • Righteous son whom he leaves behind
  • Copy of the Qur’an that he leaves as a legacy
  • The mosque that he built
  • House that he built for wayfarers
  • A canal that he dug
  • or charity that he gave during his lifetime when he was in good health

These deeds will reach him after his death.”

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Islamic Welfare Trust receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. Importance of Masjid in Islam

Mosques are the heart of Muslim life. They serve for 5 daily prayers, for events during the blessed month of Ramadan. Mosques are centres for education, information sharing, places for social welfare, and also for dispute settlement.

Imagine a Muslim community without a Masjid. Muslims in the areas wouldn’t have any place to worship. They wouldn’t be able to establish five daily prayers and the Jummah salah. This is why the Masjid is the most important place in any Muslim community.

Remember, these communities often have to travel far to pray in a mosque or their local mosque is made from materials such as mud, tree branches, or just bricks put together. Virtues of Building a Masjid

Ibn Maajah (738) narrated from Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:

“Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow’s nest or even smaller, Allaah will build for him a house in Paradise.”

Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani
