We are Scholars Verified

Alhamdulillah, the board of trustees at the Islamic Welfare Trust includes Shaykh Ibrahim Mirpuri, Senior Imam of Mohammadi Masjid in Birmingham. He is among the senior scholars in the UK and is known for his studies with many major scholars from Pakistan. Shaykh Idrees Madni, an Imam at a Glasgow Masjid, is also one of the senior scholars in the UK. He has studied under some of the major scholars in Pakistan and graduated from the Islamic University of Madeenah. Every charity project undertaken by the Trust, whether it’s the Gaza Emergency Appeal, Yemen Emergency Appeal, Earthquake Appeal, Floods Appeal, Sponsorship of Orphans and Widows, or the distribution of Zakat, is verified and authorized by these scholars along with other trustees. This ensures that your donations are spent in accordance with Islamic ethos.

Our Work

Since our establishment, we have achieved way more than we expected. The trust shown by people from all over the UK, USA and Europe has truly been amazing. With your support, we have achieved a lot. Right now our work spans across more than twenty Muslim communities in Pakistan, Yemen, Gaza, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Syria, Turkey and Africa. Some of our charity work includes:

  • Food pack distributions
  • Building of water pumps
  • Iftar programmes
  • Zakat for the needy
  • Sponsorship of Orphans
  • Qurbani on Eid Al Adha
  • Sponsorship of Widows
  • Building of Mosques
  • Sponsorship programme for Hifz Students
  • Kaffarah for Breaking Oath Feeds
  • Winter packs for poor families
  • Iftar and Food Packs through Ramadan Food Appeal
  • Sewing Schools to Empower Women to Earn Halal Income

Not just this, your support has enabled us to respond to every emergency in the last few years. Be it floods in Pakistan or Bangladesh, earthquakes in Turkey and Syria or War in Gaza – we responded to every emergency. Some of our long-term programmes include helping women earn halal income through sponsoring a sewing machine campaign and supporting Hifz students through sponsoring a hafiz programme.

Our Mission

To compassionately serve the needy, guided by Islamic principles of charity and empathy.

Our Vision

A world uplifted by Islamic generosity, where the needs of all are met with compassion and dignity.

Our 5 Guiding Principles

  • 1

“Charity is for those in need, who, in Allah’s cause are restricted (from travel), and cannot move about in the land, seeking (For trade or work). The ignorant man thinks, because of their modesty, that they are free from want. Thou shalt know them by their (Unfailing) mark: They beg not importunately from all the sundry.”

    Surah Al-Baqarah (2:273)

  • 2

“And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive, (Saying), ‘We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks.'”

    Surah Al-Insan (76:8-9)

  • 3

“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.”

    Surah Al-Baqarah (2:261)

  • 4

“Alms are for the poor and the needy, and those employed to administer the (funds); for those whose hearts have been (recently) reconciled (to Truth); for those in bondage and in debt; in the cause of Allah; and for the wayfarer: (thus is it) ordained by Allah, and Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom.”

    Surah At-Tawbah (9:60)

  • 5

“Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense? For that is the one who drives away the orphan and does not encourage the feeding of the poor.”

    Surah Al-Ma’un (107:1-3)
